Children of the Soldiers. 
By the City of Antwerp. 
This is the 1st Class of the medal with 
rosette on the ribbon.
With the portraits of the Royal Couple King 
Albert and Queen Elisabeth.
Signed by Jules Baetes (medalist from the City 
of Antwerp), dated 1914.
On the obverse: The portraits of the Royal 
Couple.
On the reverse: Inscribed: "For the Child of 
the Soldier" and with King Albert's quote 
"They will have to walk over my body before 
they shake down our Army. The Belgians will 
fight to death to ensure their independence 
and if necessary I will take the rifle too. 
Albert, 1914.".
