Campaign in Mexico (1864 - 1866).  
Rare, numbered (6990) and silver hallmarked 
(boar's head) type of the medal.
The French Association (Society) for Aiding 
the Wounded Military(SB)  was established in 
1864, following the signing of the Geneva 
Convention 1 year earlier (1863). 
The Association operated on voluntary basis 
and  offered its services both in France and 
in the French Colonies overseas.
