FRANCE: Paper weight - inkwell in the form of a
Soldier firing the post WW1 French Chatellerault
M1924/29 Machine Gun.
There is visible a dedication sign on it that links
the item to Sospel, a city with several forts that
were part of the Maginot Line.
Probably a gift to an officer. Such gifts were
representative and typical of the interwar period.
Signed by A. Ouveb.
The inkwell is marked "Made in France" (the
motto was in use in the interwar period),
"Depose" (copyright registered design) and
numbered (2020).
