France: Badge of the 516 Transport Regiment.

The 516 Transport Regiment was formed in 1944
in French North Africa, it participated in the
Liberation of France, notably in the landing in
Provence and in the advance of the units of the
1st Army of General de Lattre de Tassigny to
Germany.
It took part in the Indochina War (1947-1955).
It was moved to Morocco until 1958 and took
part in the Algerian War. It remained in Algeria
until 1964.
The Regiment fought in the Gulf War (1991)
and since then has not ceased to be engaged
in all theaters of operation around the world:
Cambodia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Republic of Côte
d'Ivoire, Lebanon, Chad, Afghanistan, and
more recently in Mali and in Central African
Republic.
This is the type of the badge, issued during the
Colonial Wars (1950s - 1960s).
