Germany WWI Imperial Navy Veteran Flanders Cross 1914 1918 with Clasp Somme & Diploma

GERMANY-Imperial Navy (Kaiserliche Marine): 
WW1 "Marine Cross" (or "Flanders Cross") on 
its original ribbon with clasp "SOMME" for 
participation in the respective battle (The Battle 
of the Somme, 1 Jul.-18 Nov. 1916).
With its diploma of issue.
The Flanders Cross was instituted in 1921 as 
an unofficial veterans award. 
Just like the majority of the Veteran awards of 
the Weimar Republic, only the diploma was 
actually issued.
The Cross and the respective clasps had to 
be purchased privately by the recipients. 
Only roughly 30.000 Crosses were authorized.
