Norway: Royal Norwegian Army National Service 
Medal (or Army Defense Medal).
On the obverse: The Coat of Arms of the Royal 
Norvegian Army.
On the reverse: Inscribed "Army for Peace and
Freedom" - the motto of the Royal Norwegian 
Army. 
The medal was instituted in 1982.
It is awarded to Norwegians (males or females) 
on successful completion of military service in 
the Army. 
Note that the military service is mandatory for 
men and voluntary for women.
The medal is rarely seen in the market.
