BELGIUM: WW2 Commemorative Medal for
the "Zero" Resistance Group in Liege, during
the German Occupation.
In its box of issue, together with the respective
ribbon pin.
With the inscription: "Remember Amicale-Zero,
1940 - 1945".
The medal was awarded to the members of the
Clandestine Group "Zero".
The Group operated in the field of Intelligence
gathering, focused not only on German troop
movements and other military information, but
also on the attitude and popular opinion of the
Belgian public - all of them were considered as
crucial factors for the Allied operational
planning.
In total 43 separate intelligence networks
existed in Belgium, involving some 14.000
people.
The Belgian resistance provided around 80%
of all information received by the Allies from
all resistance groups in Europe.
