Croatia WWII Order of the Crown of King Zvonimir Silver Merit Medal by Braca Knaus with Diploma to German NCO Dated 1943

CROATIA (Independent State) - Axis: 
WW2 Medal of Merit in the Order of the Crown of 
King Zvonimir - Silver Class. 
Hallmarked and maker marked BK (Braca Knaus) 
on the ring. 
Period of issue 1941 - 1944. 
With its diploma of issue, dated 19 Dec. 1943, to 
a German NCO (Obergefreiter - Corporal) for "
being under heavy enemy fire during the early
1943 (anti-partisan) operations in Montenegro".
The Order was created in 1941, by the Axis Puppet, 
the Independent Croatian State (Ustasa of Ande 
Pavelic). 
It was issued "as a visible sign of decoration for 
merit, in peace or wartime, in the service of the 
Croatian Nation and the Independent State of 
Croatia"
It was awarded to Croatians and to members of 
the Axis Armed Forces, mainly Germans and 
Austrians.
