Military medal for the companions at arms of
Napoleon Bonaparte, since 1792, through the
Napoleonic Wars and until the last battle of
Waterloo.
On the reverse: "A SES COMPAGNONS DE
GLOIRE SA DERNIERE PENSEE STE
HELENE 5 MAI 1821" (To his companions in
glory his last thoughts, St Helena 5 May
1821")
The medal was established in 1857 by
Emperor Napoleon III.
The cross at the top of the medal is intact.
