FRANCE: WW1 Cross for Civic Services.
Signed by P. Bouvier.
Reverse: "DEVOIR" (Duty) and "DEVOUEMENT"
(Dedication).
The Cross was established in 1937 by the LNRF
("La Reconnaissance Nationale Francaise" -
The French National Recognition) and was
awarded to men and women, military and civilian,
French and foreigners who aided the wounded,
the refugees and their families during the Great
War.
The Cross is very rare. Until the end of 1938, less
than 600 Crosses were issued while the LNRF
stopped operating with the eruption of WW2.
