FRANCE: Officer's Cross in the Order of the Legion
of Honor, of the 4th French Republic (1951 - 1961).
This type of the Officer's Cross was issued only for
10 years (for delayed WW2 awards and awards for
the Colonial Wars) so it is quite rare.
The Order was established by Napoleon Bonaparte
in 1802 and is awarded to both French and foreign
citizens for outstanding civil or military service to
France.
The Order of Honor represents the highest national
decoration of France.
