France WWI Merchant Navy Medal 1st Type in Silver by the Paris Mint Named to M. Baumard 1918

FRANCE: Merchant Navy medal. 
Silver medal, attributed and dated 1918. 
This is the 1st version of the medal (there 
are 3 versions and this is the rarest one). 
Signed by Ch. Marey, hallmarked for silver 
(ARGENT) and maker marked by the Paris 
Mint on the rim.
The medal was instituted in 1901 and was 
awarded for 25 years of service.
