France: Badge of the 115 Air Base "Captain de

The Air Base was inaugurated in 1939. During WW2
it was used by the German Luftwaffe, the RAF and
the French 5th Fighter Squadron equipped with
Bell P-39 Airacobra.
In 1989 the 115 Air Base was renamed to 115 Air
Base "Captain de Seynes" in honor of Captain
Maurice Seynes.
Today, the 115 Air Base is used by the 2/5 Fighter
Squadron "Île-de-France" equipped with Mirage
2000C/RDI and Mirage 2000B multi-role fighters
and by the 5/67 Helicopter Squadron "Alpilles"
equipped with Fennec helicopters.
The Air Base is scheduled to receive the new
Dassault Rafale multi-role fighter aircraft in
2021-2023.
