Imperial Germany: Silver Medal of the Geneva
Union - the International Society of Hotel,
Restaurant and Bar Employees (IUHR).
The Society stems from the Union of German
Restaurant Workers (UGRW) which was the
strongest such Union in Europe in the late
19th century with members in almost every
country. The IUHR was officially established
in 1908, following a conference of UGRW in
Berlin that authorized the International
Union, with headquarters in the city.
This is an extremely scarce early example
of the medal from the 1900s.
1900s - pre WW1 1914
