Service Medal, II class. On ribbon for ladies. Model of 1913.
The medal was instituted in 1913. The 2nd class medal was awarded to 
Officers, doctors, nurses, NCO (non-commissioned officers) and enlisted 
men on completion of at least 3 months service with the Army Reserve 
or Territorial Army combined with participation in at least one campaign. 
The medal, in its 2 classes, replaced the Long Service Bar that was 
awarded since 1874.
