(15th Bengal Native Infantry - Ludhiana Sikhs).
The Afghanistan Medal was instituted by Queen 
Victoria in 1881 and was awarded to members of 
the British and Indian armies who served in 
Afghanistan between 1878–1880 during the 2nd 
Afghan War.
The clasps:
The "Ahmed Khel" clasp was awarded to the men 
of the British and Indian armies who participated 
in the respective battle - a British victory. 
The battle was fought on 19 Apr. 1880 between 
the forces of General Donald Stewart (7.200 men) 
and 15.000 Afghan tribal warriors.
The "Kandahar" clasp was awarded to the forces 
of the British and Indian armies, commanded by 
General Roberts (10.000 men), who participated in 
the respective battle - a decisive British victory 
and last battle of the 2nd Afghan War.
The battle was fought on 01 Sep. 1880 against 
13.000 Afghan regular troops and tribal warriors, 
led by Ayub Khan.
