Officer's Cross, of the 3rd French Republic (1870-
1951).
The Order was established by Napoleon
Bonaparte in 1802 and is awarded to both French
and foreign citizens for outstanding military or
civil services to France.
The Order of Honor represents the highest
national decoration of France.
This is a WW1 example of the Officer's Cross.
