The cross was awarded for service during the
Sudetenland Crisis of 1938.
Following the Munich Agreement, Germany
walked into Sudetenland and occupied the
territory without firing a single shot.
The area of Sudetenland was relegated to
Germany between 1 Oct. and 10 Oct. 1938.
The Czech part of Czechoslovakia was
subsequently invaded by Germany in Mar.
1939.
The Slovak part declared its independence
from Czechoslovakia, becoming the Slovak
Republic (Slovak State), a satellite state and
ally of Nazi Germany.
The Cross is rare.
