the portrait of Kaiser Franz Joseph. With the
Imperial Austrian Crown, Daphne Wreath and
the Iron Cross.
Inscribed "Viribus Unitis" (Power in Unity) - the 
national motto of Austria-Hungary.
These badges were issued for fund raising 
purposes in order to support the war effort. 
An amazing example of early patriotic jewelry,
issued as part of a set of two similar badges
one depicting Kaiser Wilhelm II and the other
depicting Kaiser Franz Joseph. Both badges 
are available in our collection.
