Sweden: Silver Sword Cross of the Royal Order
of the Sword - also known as "Badge of the
Royal Order of the Sword".
In its box of issue by Calrman, Stockholm.
This is an example of the WW1 era.
The Order of Vasa was instituted by 1748 by
King Fredrik I, to be awarded to Officers for
long and faithful service.
In 1850, the Sword Cross and the Sword
Medal were added in the Order, to be awarded
to Non-Commissioned Officers and to Other
Ranks respectively, both for at least 16 year
of service.
The last award was documented in 1974.
