Austria-Hungary: WW1 propaganda cap badge
inscribed "Bundestreue?" (Alliance Loyalty?).
The cap badge presents "treacherous little" Italy 
backstabbing the rest of the Central Powers.
Dated 1915.
At the outbreak of WW1 Italy initially declared 
neutrality, despite being a member of the Triple 
Alliance alongside Germany and Austria-Hungary 
since 1882. 
In 1915 however, Italy surprisingly declared war 
on Austria-Hungary, entering WW1 on the side of 
the Allies, aiming to the annexation of the 
Austrian Littoral and northern Dalmatia, Trento 
and South Tirol.
A scarce cap badge.
