a Cavalry Division of the KuK Landwehr 
(Territorial Force).
Maker marked by Gurschner in Vienna.
The 12th Mounted Rifle Division was formed in 
June 1917 and was placed under the command 
of Major General Nikolaus Karapancsa Edler von 
Kraina.
The Division operated under the command of the 
XVI Army Corps (Isonzo Armee) on the Italian 
front and was disbanded in Nov. 1918.
The cap badge is scarce.
