Belgium: WW1 King Albert Medal for Political 
Prisoners. 
Signed “G. Devreese” (Godefroy Devreese).
The medal was instituted in 1930 & was awarded 
to those who had been imprisoned for at least 1 
month for supporting the Allies during the 
German Occupation of Belgium, in the Great War.
The medal is identical to the King Albert’s medal 
of 1919, for humanitarian services – the 2 medals 
differ only on the ribbons.
A quite rare medal.
