Belgium: WW2 lapel pin - button hole badge
of the National Belgian Movement (MNB)
Resistance Group during the German
Occupation.
The badge also served as a miniature for the
respective MNB medal - an unofficial award
for the members of the Group.
The Group was founded in December 1940
by Aimé Dandoy. It had a center-right political
orientation and focused on evacuating allied
airmen, intelligence gathering and sabotage
against the Germans. It became one of the
most active resistance groups in the country
with more than 30.000 members - most of
them engaged in armed operations.
In February 1944, most of the leaders of the
group were arrested by the German forces,
effectively halting almost all the activities of
the group
A rare WW2 resistance badge.
