Cambodia - French Protectorate: Royal Order of 
Cambodia, Knight's Star. 
Pierced type, hallmaked with the "Rhinoceros" 
mark for gold and silver content. 
Early example of the end of the 19th century.
The Order was established by King Norodom I, 
in 1864, to be awarded for outstanding military 
and/or civil services. 
It was awarded with different ribbons for the 
French and the Cambodians. 
The Knight's Star was awarded to Officers and 
Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) for a 
minimum of 10 years distinguished service in 
Cambodia. 
This example was issued to Cambodians.
