Czechoslovakia: Loyal Defense Medal for the 
Slovakian Volunteers 1918 - 1938, with bar in 
the form of the Coat of Arms of Slovakia.
The medal was issued in 1945-46 to the 
Slovak volunteers of the Armed Forces, in 
commemoration of the 20th anniversary of 
the declaration of an independent Czecho-
slovak Republic, which at the time (1938) 
was threatened to be invaded and occupied 
by Nazi Germany. 
On the reverse: the coat of arms of Slovakia 
circumscribed "ZA VERNOSŤ A BRANNOSŤ" 
(For Loyalty in Defense).
