France Boxer Rebellion Medal for the Expedition in China with Clasp Chine 1900 1901

FRANCE: Silver Commemorative Medal for 
the Engagement against the 1900 - 1901
"Boxer Rebellion" in China. 
With its original "Chine 1900 1901" clasp. 
Silver medal, hallmarked by the Paris mint 
and marked "Argent" (silver) on the rim, 
signed George Lemaire.
The medal was instituted in 1902 and was 
awarded to the French personnel (sailors and 
civilians) who took part in the defense of the 
Foreign Legations in Peking (Beijing)and also 
to the French Expeditionary Force (soldiers 
and sailors) who lifted the siege.
Only 3520 individuals qualified for the medal 
in total.
