There is visible a dedication sign on it that relates the
item to the 170th Infantry Regiment (the Unit fought
on the Western Front during WW1 and took part in the
Battles of Champagne, Verdun, Meuse, Somme, Artois
& Aisne).
Probably a gift to an officer. Such gifts were typical
and representative of the interwar period.
The diorama is signed by its designer (Ouveb) .
