France WWII Colonial Medal with Clasps Levant 1941 & Extreme Orient Unifacial Type by Mourgeon

FRANCE: WW2 Colonial medal with the rare 
clasps "Levant 1941" and "Extreme Orient". 
This is the rarest type of the medal - the 
unifacial type by Mourgeon. 
The "Levant 1941" clasp was issued for the 
campaign in Syria–Lebanon (Operation 
Exporter). During the operation, British 
Commonwealth, Czech and Free French 
Troops invaded the controlled by the French 
Government of Vichy Syria and Lebanon in 
June–July 1941. 
The "Extreme Orient" (Far East) clasp was 
instituted in 1946 and was awarded to both 
military and civilian personnel who fought in 
Indochina either against the Japanese forces 
(1945) or during the Indochina Colonial Wars 
(1945-1954).
The Colonial medal was established in 1893 
and was awarded to military personnel who 
operated in French protectorates and 
colonies.
In total there are established 52 official and 
63 unofficial bars for the colonial medal. 
The award was replaced by the Overseas 
Medal in 1962.
