France: WW2 Badge of the French National
Federation of Deportees, Internees, Resistance
Members & Patriots (FNDIRP).
The badge was awarded to survivors of the
German Concentration Camps during WW2.
The design of the badge is based on the
concentration camps prisoner striped pajamas.
The prisoner number on the top (178284) was
chosen to honor the memory of Charles Oschkor,
a kapo of Blechhammer Concentration Camp who
sacrificed himself to save other prisoners - 178284
was his number.
A rarely seen badge.
