Imperial Germany - Lippe Detmold: 
WW1 Military Cross for War Merit.
Established by Prince Leopold IV, in 1914, to 
reward military and civilian personnel who had
significant contribution with acts of courage to 
the war effort. 
Only 18.000 medals were issued as the population 
of the Principality of Lippe Detmold, during WW1, 
was around 150.000 people.
