Single Campaign During the 1866 German Civil
War.

The medal was instituted by King Karl in 1866
and was issued to all Officers, NCOs, Soldiers and
Military Employees who served with the Armed
Forces of Wurttemberg and participated in the
1866 War against Prussia..
On the obverse: The Royal Cypher of King Karl.
On the reverse: "For Loyal Service in a Single
Campaign"
The German Civil War of 1866 was fought between
the German Confederation under the leadership of
the Austrian Empire and its German allies on one
side (Bavaria, Saxony, Wurttemberg etc) and the
Kingdom of Prussia with its German allies
(Mecklenburg, Oldenburg, Anhalt, Brunswick,
Hanseatic Cities etc) and Italy on the other.
The War resulted in Prussian dominance over the
German states.
In the Italian unification process, this is called the
Third Independence War.
