(Henry) the Lion, Silver Cross of Merit, 2nd Class.
Inscribed: "IMMOTA FIDES" (Latin for: Steadily
Faithful).
Hallmarked: "900" (for silver purity) and the
German national mark of a crescent moon and a
crown on the reverse side.
The Order of Heinrich the Lion was established in
1834 by Grand Duke Wilhelm and was issued for
long and faithful services to the Duchy.
It was suppressed in 1918 with only 3350 Crosses
of Merit 2nd Class, ever being awarded.
