The medal is scarce.
The Flottenbund Deutscher Frauen was a 
women’s auxiliary organization connected to the 
Deutscher Flottenverein (German Fleet League). 
It was founded in 1905 as part of the broader naval 
movement to support the expansion and public 
backing of the German Imperial Navy. 
The League organized fundraising events and 
charity drives for sailors and naval families, 
produced and distributed patriotic propaganda 
and educational material encouraging support 
for naval policy.
