Imperial Germany: Authentic WW1 photo of a
German NCO (Sergeant or Senior Corporal) in 
standard M1910 Feldgrau uniform standing 
before the entrance of a trench dugout marked 
“Schreibstube” (Orderly Room) and “Nicht 
Anklopfen” (Do Not Knock), suggesting the 
location was likely a company or battalion 
command post on the front.
Written on the reverse and Feldpost marked by 
the 17th Infantry Regiment.
The sender addresses a bank employee named 
W. Flüsloh in Hagen (Westphalia). The tone is 
friendly and personal, likely between friends or 
possibly former colleagues.
Postcard format.
Dimensions: aprox. 14 cm x 9 cm. 
A genuine piece of Imperial German military 
history from the Great War years.
