Imperial Germany: Original WWI photo, dated 
New Year’s Eve 1917, showing a unique group 
of four German soldiers: two Hussars (one in 
traditional Hussar uniform, the other in plain 
dress), an Infantry Non-Commissioned Officer 
(NCO) and a Ulan NCO.
All of them are decorated with Iron Cross ribbons
or ribbon bars. 
The reverse bears a clear Feldpost (Field Post) 
stamp, confirming its wartime mailing origin. 
This rare composition captures the diversity of 
German military arms—cavalry and infantry—
during the later years of the Great War. 
A remarkable collectible for WW1 historians, 
cavalry enthusiasts, and military photography 
collectors.
