He wears the dark peacetime Waffenrock (tunic) 
with eight buttons and a matching visorless 
Krätzchen field cap. 
On his left side, suspended from the belt, is a 
sidearm adorned with a clearly visible Portepee 
or Troddel — a bayonet or sword knot.
