Feldpost marked 1916, 45th Reserve Division and 
also by the 35th Engineer Battalion, 3rd Company.
Written on the reverse in April 1916 during the 
battle around the city. The sender describes 
being in the artillery sector during the capture of 
Lille speaks of the terrible conditions and hopes 
the war will end soon.
A unique and emotional piece of wartime 
correspondence.
