Product Information
Specification
Imperial Germany - Kingdom of Prussia:
WW1 Merit Cross for Aiding the War Effort.
The medal was established in 1916 by Kaiser
Wilhelm II and was awarded as a recognition
of outstanding patriotic services and aid
on behalf of the war effort.
The majority of the Crosses were produced in
zinc (like this example) while a very limited
number of them were produced in silver or
aluminum.
The Cross was awarded to both civilians and
military, regardless of rank and sex. It was
suppressed in 1924.
