The 247th Inf. Reg. was formed in 05 Sep. 1914
in Ulm on the Danube.
It was put under the chain of command of the 54th
Reserve Division, XIII Royal Wurttembergian Army
Corps.
The Reg. took part in the Battles of Yser, Ypres
and Flanders (1914-15), the Battles of the Somme
(1916), Champagne and Verdun (1917), and in the
Battles of the Somme, Flanders, Cambrai and
Morlancourt (1918).
The Regiment was disbanded in 17 Sep. 1918.
