marked FG (for  G. Ferraris).
The "Al Valore Militare" medal was instituted in 
1833, in 2 classes (gold & silver), by King Carlo 
Alberto of Sardinia - its official name being 
"Military Medal for Acts of Exceptional Valor". 
The unnamed examples of the medal are very 
scarce.
