Italy: WW1 Commemorative Cross of the 1st Army 
(Prima Armata). 
The 1st Italian Army operated against the Austro-
Hungarian forces, on the Eastern Alpes. 
The Unit participated in decisive battles during the 
years 1917 and 1918, in difficult conditions and 
heights nearly 2700 meters. 
The Cross was instituted in 1924. Just like the 
majority of such crosses of the various Italian 
Units, it was produced by a number of different 
makers, in various designs while the recipients 
of the award had to purchase it themselves.
This is the rare example by L. Fassino - A. Caly.
