ITALY: Order of the Italian Crown, Knight's Cross.
In its luxurious box of issue by Cravanzola in 
Rome, with the royal cypher of King Vittorio 
Emanuele II on the lid. 
The Order was instituted in 1868 by King Vittorio 
Emanuele and was awarded for both civilian 
and military merit until the establishment of the 
Republic, at the end of WW2, when it was 
discontinued.
