as a recognition of the San Magno's citizens' 
sacrifice, due to the violent reprisals by the 
occupying German troops and the violent 
bombings by the Allied Forces, during the 
Monte Cassino battle.

the  Village to the involved families and not the 
actual medal issued by the Italian Government.
