(38th) Arabo-Somali Colonial Battalion of the 
Italian Royal Corps of Colonial Troops 
(Askaris) for the 2nd Italo-Ethiopian War (the 
Italian invasion of Abyssinia, 1935-1937). 
The XXXVIII Arabo-Somali Colonial Battalion 
was stationed in Erithrea.
Obverse: An Ascari soldier holding the
Regimental banner. Inscribed: "The Risk of 
Death is Our Joy".
Reverse: The Eagle of the Italian Royal Corps 
of Colonial Troops over the battles (and their 
respective dates) the Battalion took part in.
The medal is scarce.
