NAZI GERMANY: Badge of the NAZI party, for the 
return/re-annexation of the Saar Basin to Germany.
Marked RK on the obverse. Dated 1934.
Inscribed: "Deutsch ist die Saar. Des Deutschen 
Ehre ist die Treue" (Saar is German. The German 
Honor is Loyalty).
The badges was distributed in 1934 to promote 
the re-annexation of the Saar Basin (Saarland) 
by Germany.
After WW1, Saar’s coal mines were awarded to 
France and Saarland was placed under the 
administration of the League of Nations for 15 
years, at the end of which time a plebiscite 
would decide whether the region was to remain 
part of France or was to be returned to Germany.
In the plebiscite, held on Jan. 13, 1935, more 
than 90% of the inhabitants of Saarland voted 
for its return to Germany.
The badge is rare.
