NAZI GERMANY: German Police Long Loyal
Service Award, 3rd Class, for 8 years of
service.
The award was instituted in 1938 in 3 classes
for 8, 18 and 25 years of loyal service.
To qualify for the medal, a person had to be
an active member of the Police or "an
administrator" in the police service. Military
service time could also be applied to the
total time of service needed for the award.
The term "Police" included the following
forces:
-OrPo (Regular Police)
-SiPo (Security Police) and its subdivisions
-Gestapo (Secret State Police)
-KriPo (Criminal Investigation Police)
-SD (SS Security Service)
-RSHA (Imperial Main Security Office) after
1939 (the RSHA was established on 27 Sept.
1939, following the consolidation of the SD
and the SiPo).
