Netherlands: Silver Medal in the Order of Orange-
Nassau.
In its box of issue, with the Royal Crown on the
lid, by M. J. Goudsmit, official medal supplier of
the Dutch Royal Court and the Dutch Chancellery
of Orders.
This is a WW1 era example of the medal, marked
with the "sword mark" on the ring (silver purity
hallmark that was used during the years 1906-
1953).
The Order was established by Queen Emma
(Regent for Queen Wilhelmina), in 1892.
It may be awarded to both Dutch citizens and
foreigners for meritorious services to the Crown
or the State.
