Romania WWI Commemorative War Cross 1916 1918 with 1 Clasp (Marasesti)

Romania: WW1 Commemorative War Cross 
(1916 – 1918) with "Marasesti" clasp.
The medal was instituted in 1918 and was 
awarded to military and civilian personnel 
for service during the Great War. 
Romania entered the War in 1916 on the 
Entente side, despite the alliance of the 
country with both Germany and the 
Austro-Hungarian Empire and the fact that 
the Romanian Royal House was of German 
origin.
The “Marasesti” clasp was issued for the 
Battle of Marasesti (Aug. 6, 1917 – Sept. 3, 
1917), the last major battle against Germany.
The Cross is hard to find, especially with 
original clasps.
