the "Crusade Against Communism" - the 
Eastern Front Campaign against the Soviet 
Union. 
In its box of issue by the Romanian National
Mint, with the Royal Cipher of King Michael
on the lid.
The medal was instituted in 1942, by King 
Michael. It was awarded to military personnel 
who distinguished themselves in combat on 
the Eastern Front. 
Rare example without the name of the 
engraver P. Grant.
